Field II is a program for simulating ultrasound
tranducer fields and ultrasound imaging using linear
acoustics. The programs uses the Tupholme-Stepanishen method
for calculating pulsed ultrasound fields. The program
is capable of calculating the emitted and pulse-echo
fields for both the pulsed and continuous wave case
for a large number of different transducers. Also
any kind of linear imaging can be simulated as well as
realistic images of human tissue. The program
is running under Matlab on a number of different
operating system (Windows, Linux, Mac OS X, HP-UX, SUN, SGI,
IBM and Alpha), and the programs are currently free to use
under certain restrictions (see copyright).
The latest release of the program is
version 3.16 of December 18, 2007. Note that this code will work with
Matlab 7.3 and 7.5 under Linux and Windows in both 32 and 64 bits versions.
A version for the Intel Mac has also been made.
There is problems with Matlab version 7.8 and the 7.6 code. A new 64 bits
version for Linux and Matlab 7.8 has been made, and can be found at:
?downloading_7_8.html . More versions will be added
once they are compiled.
The lates News is from June 30, 2009 on the
Matlab 7.8 version.
